Hi, I'm Greg Millard
Solving complex problems with clients is what drives me. Helping them navigate through and out of situations where a solution is not obvious or easily apparent gives me a great sense of satisfaction. I enjoy building a rapport quickly with a client, putting their mind at ease and focussing on finding solutions that work.
I joined the Grow HR team in 2021 after having worked as a self-employed Workplace Investigator for a couple of years. Prior to that I worked for the Ministry of Justice in a wide variety of roles and locations over a 20-year period. I have had an unusual and unique education journey. I gained a Commercial Pilot’s License from Flightline Aeronautical College in 1995, a B.Hort from Massey in 1997 and a LL.B from Victoria University Wellington in 2012. I was admitted to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2013, but I have never practiced as a lawyer. Instead, I stayed with the Ministry of Justice as a Registrar.
In 2024 I took on the role of Associate Director here at Grow HR and I lead the Employment Relations (ER) work stream within the wider team.
As a workplace investigator I have conducted in excess of 100 investigations ranging from simple right through to complex multi-complainant investigations. As an Employment Relations consultant I have guided employer clients through many challenging disciplinary processes, restructures/redundancies and employment relationship problems. I also assist clients who have received personal grievances including representing them at MBIE mediations.
