Pre-Employment Checks

Finding out as much as relevant and possible about your preferred candidates before employing them is our recommended approach to recruitment. The 90 day statutory trial period is not a substitute for this. It is often much later in employment where issues can arise that could have been considered or factored at the time of employing the person.

Interviews should only form a part of your selection process. To ensure you get as much information as possible to support your decision making we also recommend assessments, reference checking, a pre-employment questionnaire and an ACC pre-employment check as a minimum. These checks can all be done quickly and cost effectively. Some roles may also require police checking or vetting, driver checks and/or credit checks and further medical testing.
