Hi, I'm Mandy Cartwright
I’m Mandy Cartwright, a Director and HR Consultant at Grow HR. I help guide our team and business direction while working closely with clients to make HR simple, practical, and effective.
Since joining Grow HR in 2011, I’ve supported a wide range of business owners and managers across New Zealand to build strong people practices and HR foundations — from employment documents and frameworks to tailored advice and ongoing support that fits the way they work. I have a particular interest in the numbers side of HR - pay reviews, benefits, benchmarking, and incentive schemes — and how these connect people strategies with business goals.
Before consulting, I spent 14 years in HR roles across education, financial services, and public sector organisations in both New Zealand and the UK. That in-house experience gives me a strong understanding of how different workplaces operate, their commercial realities, and what practical HR support looks like in each.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Studies in HR Management from Massey University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel & Development from Manchester Open Learning in the UK and I remain committed to ongoing professional development.
Outside of work, you’ll find Ghillie, our retriever keeping me active so he doesn’t get into mischief at home. And when the sea is calm, I’m first in line for a fishing trip.
