Accredited Employer Update - applying for or renewing accreditation

Accredited Employer Update - Applying for or renewing accreditation

Immigration New Zealand has this week released a new checklist to help with applying for and renewing employer accreditations.  If you are accredited or planning to be this checklist sets out what documents you will need to include.  This comes after the recent announcements that there will no longer be a requirement for employers and migrant employees to complete the online modules after 27 January 2025.

Other changes that are on the horizon for accredited visas include;

  • A move away from the minimum wage rate for application to use of market rates
  • Reducing minimum experience thresholds
  • A new visa for lower skilled roles with a shorter duration
  • Increase to minimum income thresholds for workers to support a dependent child for a visa

If you are an accredited employer or considering being one, check in with your Immigration Lawyer or Advisor about these changes if they could impact you.
