Go Hard, Go Early – Grow HR COVID-19 Update

This is the Government’s message from last night as the country moves to COVID-19 Alert Levels at midday today.

Keeping staff informed remains paramount. Ensure your staff know what's expected of them and what resources are available to support them.

We continue to be in a period of uncertainty with many staff and families likely to be directly impacted by the move of Auckland to Alert Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand to Alert Level 2 at 12pm Wednesday 12 August 2020.

Keeping people informed and encouraging an open dialogue is the best way we can all help to minimise or reduce the impacts.

For this week:

  • If you can operate from your business premises ensure you've got your COVID-19 posters up and your staff are aware of the need to check themselves and others in. Posters can be prepared via: https://qrform.tracing.covid19.govt.nz

  • Ensure staff are clear on all current customer / visitor procedures and are working remotely where they cannot work from their usual place of work.

  • Make sure hand sanitisers and masks are available where possible and encourage their use.

  • Familiarise yourself with the wellness resources and support available, and keep staff informed about them – a full list of resources can be found on the COVID-19 website and via the Mental Health Foundation

  • A 24/7 helpline with trained counsellors is available by texting or calling 1737.

  • Keep checking eligibility for the COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Extension if your revenue is impacted because of COVID-19. Applications can be made anytime up to 1 September 2020 where revenue in 30 of the 40 days prior to application was 40% or more down on the same period in 2019 and this was because of COVID-19.
